“Big Ben” Parkin hosts Sideroads on Tuesdays from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Ben grew up in here in Ameliasburgh hiking, riding motorcycles, and fishing on the waters off Green Point. He moved away in his 20s and spent the next 20 years working across Canada before an opportunity rose to return with his family to the shores of Prince Edward County. A student from the radio broadcasting program at Loyalist College, Ben has always loved music, particularly Rock and Blues, and shortly after returning it wasn’t long before he started volunteering at 99.3 county FM. Ben says, “I love putting together my show, every time I do I learn something new about the blues, a neat fact about a musician or band that I think is really cool, and I get to share it with everyone.” When he’s not at the radio station, you’ll likely find him cruising the county roads on his motorcycle.
