The Prince Edward County Jazz Festival wraps up on Sunday so time to revisit J.D. Carpenter and All Us Cats on Stage – Jazz Poems. He recalls memorable performances by some of the greats of the past.
Megan Hutton has composed an original score for Conrad Beaubien’s play Bridge Street at Théâtre Roulant, The Waring House, until August 23rd. Megan explains how she translates the poignant theme of the play into lyrics and music.

An enthusiastic young crew joined the construction team at the site of the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. Children from the HUB Child and Family Centre donned hard hats and safety vests to learn all about the build. Shannon Coull, Executive Director of the PECMHF, and Stacey Stanford, Executive Director of The HUB, describe the event, the reaction of the kids and what it means to them to watch the hospital take shape every day.
Vincent de Tourdonnet, Transit Coordinator, provides latest statistics on County Transit ridership and invites residents to a public consultation on the future of the service on Monday, August 18, 4 to 7, Picton Town Hall.

SERVICES
Executive Director of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, Shannon Coull, joins us in studio to share more information about their good news announced last week. We’ll be discussing their new partnership with Base31, which will host a temporary helicopter pad to ensure air ambulance services remain available during the construction of the new hospital. This initiative will help maintain critical patient transport capabilities while work on the facility moves forward.

This is a really tough year for wildlife. For many, food sources have dried up in the drought. Some adults and babies are starving to death. No-one knows that better than Sue Meech, founder and volunteer-in-chief of Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre in Napanee, which rescues injured and orphaned birds, animals and reptiles. She is Pamela Stagg’s guest this week.
