TOPICAL ISSUES & CURRENT EVENTS

Chris Malette, Bay of Quinte MP, discusses issues facing the County and the country and what’s ahead as the House of Commons resumes sitting on January 26th. He also reveals the reason for his trip to Brussels next month.

The United Nations has declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer. Athol Councillor Sam Branderhorst is a dairy farmer and speaks of the challenges and rewards of that role.

On Sunday’s edition of The County Writes…The County Reads, Jennifer Cobb was surprised by the appearance of the author of the book she was reading. Hear Libby DeLana, author of Cold Joy, and Jennifer as they compare notes on aging and their shared love of cold water immersion.

Meet Bonnie – Bonnie also known as Bons/Bonnie-Skylar spent the core of her career managing festivals and bespoke events in the UK and Europe producing a number of festivals and events for clients as Google, YouTube Music, Goldman Sachs, Prada and SONY Music.

With a creative and operational background Bons made the move to PEC 5 years ago and created her own event management firm “Country Road Events”  – a creative event management agency to bring to life whatever you want to celebrate, no matter how big or how small.

Dr. Love Dalen, of Sweden’s Centre for Paleogenetics, has been in the news lately for his research on Ice-Age wolf pups. He talks to Pamela Stagg about his work looking for Ice-Age mammals in the permafrost of Siberia and Alaska.

Born in Canada where he learned to drive at 9 years of age, F.Ross Saunders has been driving across North America, on the highways that he built and in the trucks he owned. With deep roots in Prince Edward County, he recalls many tales of his life  with Renay Weissman-Stanners.

2026 Annual General Meeting Prince Edward County Radio Corporation

The upcoming AGM for 99.3 County FM is Wednesday January 28th, 2026 at 7:00 pm. The meeting is held online.  Anyone who is a member in good standing at the time of the meeting may attend with full voting rights.  We have sent out notices to current members via email. Please call or write if you did not see the email. 

Memberships are $10 each and can be purchased or renewed at the studios at 38 Cold Storage Rd during business hours, online on our website; at or via e-transfer to ar@993countyfm.ca (if you are e-transfering please include the names of the members) 

At the AGM we will:

  • Present an overview of the year’s highlights.
  • To receive the Financial Statement and Annual Report of the Corporation for the period ending August 31, 2025
  • To elect Directors of the Corporation.   
  • To appoint the public accountant of the Corporation for the ensuing year.
  • To transact such other business as may properly be brought before the meeting.
