THE COUNTY WRITES….THE COUNTY READS
The theme for Black History Month 2026 is “ honouring Black brilliance across generations from nation builders to tomorrow’s visionaries.” Barbara Yebuga, author of Trailblazers in Canada writes of the little-known historical figures who have led the way for others. In addition to her memoir, Mayann Francis: An Honourable Life, the 31st Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia has written books about her childhood in two books for children, Mayann’s Train Ride and One Summer in Whitney Pier.

In the first episode of our 6 week County FM series, Seniors and Technology – Embracing the World, you’ll hear various accounts about our relationship with technology, particularly our smartphones and other digital devices.
