Water consumption for livestock was a huge issue, keeping the dairy cattle cool during the high temperatures and dealing with the spring flood during planting season all painted a picture of the hardships. Sam Branderhorst talked about the stress farmers felt and took the opportunity to encourage farmers and their families to utilize the Guardian Network, a free mental health program supporting the farming community. Sam is a guardian herself and offered her contact for anyone in need of support.
