It’s a big day in federal politics as the results of three by-elections, two in the GTA and one outside of Montreal, could give Mark Carney’s Liberals the majority government voters decided against in the last election. The Liberals are widely expected to take the two Ontario seats, but have spent the campaign sending Cabinet ministers and volunteers to the Quebec riding of Terrebonne, in an effort to take support away from the Parti Quebecois. Thanks to two late birdies, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler finished second at 11 under. He closed with a 68 and is the first golfer since World War II to play bogey-free in the final two rounds of the Masters.
