In The Making of a Heritage Minute: Gander and 9 /11, Rick Mercer plays the Mayor of Gander and residents, who opened their homes, tell their stories.

TOPICAL ISSUES & CURRENT EVENTS
Mark Daley, Chief AI Officer, Western University, discusses the claim by a former researcher at Anthropic that AI could kill all humans by 2030. He also comments on the federal government’s framework for building data centres in spite of widespread opposition and its AI for All program to teach Canadians about the uses and benefits of AI.
Imperial Submarine Sandwiches, a popular Picton landmark at the top of the town hill, celebrates 50 years in business on Saturday, September 26. Anna Papanicolaou and her daughter Georgia describe the early days working in the store and living above it and Larry White recalls serving the first sub to the Mayor on May 7, 1976.

The range of options for body styles, power systems, and technology can make choosing the right vehicle for you challenging. We speak with Josh Carney of Prinzen Ford in Bloomfield about the new models coming out this fall and he will share tips on choosing the powertrains as well as explain some of the technical and safety innovations available.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Trying to find the right service provider or resolve a problem in our healthcare service can be confusing and frustrating. It is especially difficult for seniors and those with disabilities, but help is available. The Prince Edward Family Health Team’s System Navigator, Lee Marchildon, helps patients and service providers find what they need, coordinate services, and resolve communication problems. She is also involved in community outreach and education. In Part 1 (of 2 interviews) we learn how Lee and PEFHT can help you connect with the healthcare services you need.

Six County organizations have come together for a community science event happening September 25 and 26. Tune in to find out why the County Field Naturalists, the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory, the South Shore Joint Initiative, Friends of Delhi Park, Trees for PEC, and Feral Folc are getting together with the community to observe and record all the plants, trees, birds, birds, bugs, fungi, fish and more during a 26 hour period! Joining us in studio to talk about the upcoming Marsh Creek Community Bioblitz is Becky Lamb of Feral Folc and Gerry Jenkison of PEC Naturalists.
