Lynne Grist’s two books in The Key To Time series, Treasure at Sandbanks and Treasure at Long Point, feature a brother and sister who time travel, meet historical figures and become embroiled in exciting adventures while vacationing in Prince Edward County. Donna Kaye is co-author of Move Along Huxley and Roscoe, the tale of two curious dogs who go off leash and meet new friends as they explore and learn about the forest.

Adam Hambly, Director of Physician Recruitment, explains how County Docs has attracted several doctors to the County and why he has launched a campaign to recruit physicians from the United States. 
Barbara Perry, Director, Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism, comments on the arrest of Canadian Armed Forces members allegedly plotting terrorist activity.
Bill Roberts, broadcaster, public policy expert and Sophiasburgh councillor, discusses his appointment as Chair of the Board of Trustees of WPBS-TV and the challenges facing public media today.

The Huff Family Fund has been supporting local registered charities in the County since 2018.  Gillian Armstrong, Interim Executive Director of the County Foundation, joins us to talk about the goals of the Huff Family Fund and how to apply for a grant this year.  Gillian will also provide an update on important changes to this year’s Vital Impact Fund, another source of funding administered by The County Foundation.
 

Sommelier Jay Whitely pulls back the curtain on the mysterious art of food and wine pairing. Forget the ‘rules’ you’ve heard before: Jay gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the approach experts take to marrying wines with foods. By the end of this episode, you’ll be ready to create awesome couplings of your own based on attributes like acidity, body, sweetness and astringency.
  
As part of our ongoing Home Renovation series, Evan Nash returns to our live studio to talk about the conveniences and features offered in today’s dishwashers, and the mechanical and technical issues to look out for.

Terry Sprague is the County’s best-known naturalist — deservedly so. He has introduced thousands of people to the outdoors over the course of his career. In retirement, he continues to give his excellent presentations to many different groups. This week, Pamela Stagg, presents a tribute to this dedicated naturalist.

Wendy Mesley is a television journalist and writer. Working with CBC News from 1981 to 2021, she anchored The National and hosted Undercurrents, Disclosure, Marketplace and The Weekly with Wendy Mesley. Now joining County Profile (this time as the interviewee) Wendy talks with Timothy Luginbuhl about some of her more memorable interviews, windsurfing and (ahem) lawncare. 
 
WHAT’S HAPPENING 
Craig Mills interviews Don Leslie of the Rotary Club of Picton about the new Blueberry Patch fundraising initiative.  The Blueberry Patch in Waupoos will not have a commercial operation this year. In its place, the Rotary Club of Picton will run a pick your own Blueberry and Raspberry fundraiser on now through August. 
 

Brenda Garvey will be interviewing Cheryl Anderson with the South Shore Joint Initiative and the Department of Illumination about the upcoming Monarch Day being held in Delhi Park on July 26th.  A day of fun to learn about the Monarch butterfly.

Cheryl Singer speaks with painter Anthony Buttazzoni.  Anthony refers to himself as not your ‘normal’ painter.  Although he often got into trouble while drawing in class as a young student and not listening, he did not let this deter him from becoming a professional painter who lets his imagination drive the way and what he paints.   His figuratives leave you wondering “Where are they going?” and/or  “What are they thinking about?”   And landscapes that have a definitive point of view.
