Best-selling author Linwood Barclay reviews The Life of Chuck based on the novella by his friend Stephen King. The film will launch the County Adaptation Film Festival (CAFF) Friday, September 26th at The Regent Theatre. Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest premieres at the Mt. Tabor Playhouse on September 24th. Director James Fraser (Algernon Moncrieff) and Pat Larkin (Lady Bracknell) discuss their roles, their passion for theatre and reveal fun facts about themselves.

DNA is everywhere in our environment. You may have heard last winter’s interview with Dr. Matt Wooller about finding it in Ice Age samples of mud from the bottom of the Bering Sea. Now Dr. Elizabeth Clare of York University is exploring DNA in the air. She stumbled on it as a research tool, accidentally, while studying bats. She will talk to Pamela Stagg about her work — and the experience of inspiring a fictional research scientist, Dr. Libby LeClair, in Steve Burrows book, A Deceit of Lapwings.

COUNTY PROFILE
99.3 County FM volunteer, Gerry Stewart, passed peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the age of 84. In his honour, Gerry’s 2021 County Profile interview is being rerun. Gerry was a host of Classic County show for a couple of years plus he hosted Mather’s Music & Miscellany, helped out at events, acted in our Scammers Video Series and performed in radio plays.

Seniors and Technology – Embracing the Digital World.
99.3 CountyFM, along with Prince Edward Learning Centre, conducts free workshops titled Seniors and Technology: Embracing the Digital World. The workshops focus on the role of digital technology in your life. It’s an opportunity to share your experiences with and attitudes towards technology and discuss how we spend our time in the digital world. And perhaps identify some opportunities to use digital technologies in new ways.
