CONSUMERISM
The Autumn Equinox falls on September 22, making it an ideal day to sit down with Debbie Tremblay, owner and founder of Nourish the Soul on Main Street in Picton. We’ll explore Debbie’s journey from the corporate world into healing, along with the workshops, classes, wares offered at Nourish the Soul, and how the store has evolved over the years.
From crystal healing and chakra energy balancing to intuitive development and some of the lesser-known spiritual practices people explore, we’ll look at what they are and why people are drawn to them.
SERVICES
Last week Lee Marchildon, the Prince Edward Family Health Team’s System Navigator, talked about how she coordinates with doctors and patients to connect people with the services they need. This week Lee will talk about the other part of her job, community outreach, education and empowerment. Lee will tell us how she increases awareness and empowers patients, primary care providers and service agencies to address issues affecting patient mental and physical health.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Psychiatrist Dr. Joe Burley joins us for our monthly Mental Health Check-In to talk about the evolving parent-child relationship, the difference between being supportive and trying to be a friend, and why setting boundaries can sometimes be so challenging. We’ll also look at friendships, people-pleasing, expectations and how to recognize when a relationship may no longer be healthy.

Pearl Hucul speaks with Liz Moran, who spent over 30 years in the financial services industry, holding positions in Commercial Banking, Private Banking and Wealth Management with a major Canadian bank both as a Registered Investment Advisor and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) as well as serving as Vice President and Senior Financial Consultant with a national Financial Planning firm before retiring in 2015 and moving to Prince Edward County in 2016. Since then she has served as the Treasurer for the Prince Edward County Arts Trail for over six years, been a member of the Prince Edward County Arts Council and the Belleville Art Association, and volunteered at County FM in various admin roles, working on the Lifestyle Auction, and co-hosting County Cooks.

Craig Mills speaks with Hilary Fennell, Community Initiatives Coordinator for the County of Prince Edward about two excellent events sponsored by Prince Edward Community Well-Being Plan. On Oct 6th, parents, caregivers, and caring adults can learn how to make youth feel heard, supported and connected. They can also learn how to have meaningful conversations about mental health at home.
