What is Prince Edward County’s Learning Centre seeing in our community? Ahead of the release of its annual Impact Report, Executive Director Kathleen Kennedy joins us to discuss the challenges local residents are facing and how the Learning Centre is responding. We’ll look at its work in food security, employment training, youth engagement and financial support, as well as the gaps in services it hopes to address.

How do winemakers decide which wines belong together? In our 7th episode of World of Wine, regular guest Sommelier Jay Whiteley explores the art and science of blending. We’ll talk about what each variety brings to the mix, how a blend is developed, and what can make a finished wine greater than the sum of its parts.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
We’re revisiting an interview from earlier this month to remind listeners about an important local support group for people facing challenges with addiction.
More than 20% of Canadians will experience addiction or substance use challenges at some point in their life. September is recovery month across Canada to raise public awareness and to work to eliminate the stigma surrounding addiction and mental illness. Registered Psychotherapist Matt Harris joined us to talk about the weekly SMART Recovery group at the Picton Library. This free, science-based program offers support for people looking to make changes around addiction and other behaviours, with a focus on practical tools, self-management and empowerment.
