Lorraine began volunteering with 99.3 County FM as a grant writer in 2019. She has helped the station secure funding for projects such as “Homeless in a Rural Community”, “Outsmarting the Scammers – Helping Seniors Fight Fraud” and many others. She is currently a member of the Fundraising Team.
With a BA (Canadian Studies) from the University of Toronto, Lorraine draws on wide-ranging skills in communications. In the mid-1980s, she established a Communications/PR consultancy firm that supported medium-to-large organizations in a range of industries.
On the volunteer front, Lorraine served as a board member for a national political party (Bay of Quinte district); Communications Director for the Canadian Federation of University Women (Georgetown), and Communications Director, Halton-Peel Communications Association (now Communicators Connection). Other volunteer work has included managing the communications portfolios for the United Way of Halton Hills (ON), and the Prince Edward Flying Club.
