The Department of Illumination Firelight Lantern Festival sponsored by 99.3 County FM Nov. 4th-5th

The Department of Illumination is ready to light up the night with a special anniversary edition of The Firelight Lantern Festival, a cherished Prince Edward County tradition since 2013. This year, for the first time, the festival has expanded to two magical evenings of arts and music with the theme The Enchanted Forest.

Friday November 4th is a 19+ evening featuring Kingston’s unique and experimental folkestra: The Gertrudes amongst food, drink, dancing, art installations and interactive performances.

Saturday, November 5th is the Lantern Parade in an all-ages event starting in Benson Park. The parade will make its way down Main Street to the Crystal Palace, where Toronto’s hip-hop brass band Bangerz Brass will perform on stage.

Both nights will have an eclectic array of art installations and illuminating circus and festival performances.

Join us for a magical evening of music, art and performances.

November 4th & 5th at the Crystal Palace.

The Department of Illumination is delighted to bring back our popular lantern-making workshops this year. We’ll provide you with the materials and instruction you need to make your own super cool lantern! Lantern making workshops start Oct 21.
