As one of the co-hosts of Artscene, Karen believes that a good conversation about art or craft should never involve Artspeak or language that alienates people. Karen studied art and art history at university and ended up working in the non-profit sector where she worked in communications, government relations, and for a time taught art classes to people with developmental disabilities. Upon moving to the county in 2019, she opened Guildworks with her partner, which carries great craft made by artists from across the country.
